Staying at Voewood is an unforgettable experience. Each room is unique and imaginatively decorated in a style that blends the contemporary with Arts & Crafts style. We have remained true to the spirit of the house whilst creating a funky and original look. There are mosaics, marvellous handmade curtains and a fascinating array of art objects and furniture.
Voewood can accommodate up to 32 guests in double, twin and single beds, with 14 bedrooms including a dormitory of 7 single beds. There are 7 bathrooms and a power shower room.
The kitchen is equipped with an Aga, a multi-fuel stove, a large kitchen table and a separate larder and cold store area.
A truly eclectic and original place to stay.
Parties & Family Gatherings
Voewood can be hired throughout the year for dinner parties and celebrations of all kinds. Many people use the house to celebrate a special birthday. It is particularly good for these events as 32 guests can stay the night and therefore relax and enjoy a few drinks. Large families that are geographically scattered have converged on Voewood for reunion weekends.
The large dining room with its open fire and beautiful appliquéd butterfly curtains provides a great atmosphere for a memorable evening. It can seat 16 people or more at a squeeze and the main hall up to 100. Larger parties can be accommodated using the ground floor space and terrace area in a more informal style.
The house is also available for Christmas and New Year.
The kitchen has both an Aga and gas stove and can be used by guests or by recommended, hired caterers.
Retreats
Many practitioners in the fields of yoga, meditation and alternative therapies have hired Voewood to run their retreats.
The main hall is a wonderfully calm space in which up to 20 people can practise yoga.
The 12 acres of woodland and garden provide the opportunity for personal space and relaxation.
Beyond is the North Norfolk coast, an area of outstanding natural beauty which offers some of the most delightful and peaceful scenery available anywhere in the British Isles.
All kinds of catering options are available and can be arranged if required.
Meetings & Conferences
Voewood is an ideal venue for conferences or small corporate meetings. It is peaceful and self contained yet near to the town of Holt. The manner in which it is laid out lends itself to small seminars, or larger talks in the main hall with plenty of options for breakout rooms.
The relaxing environment and restful atmosphere is conducive to creative thinking.
