Tours Of Voewood

Voewood was built by E.S Prior for Rev. Percy Lloyd between 1903 and 1905. Prior combined concrete, flint and stone in rich profusion to decorate one of the finest examples of the Arts and Craft movement. Known as the Butterfly House because of its wings and symmetry, Voewood simply grew out of the ground. Prior used the surrounding land to supply materials for the build, creating the magical sunken gardens that can be seen today and that complement the house beautifully. The house is Grade II* listed and the gardens are Grade I listed.

Group visits of up to thirty people are offered by prior arrangement. This includes a tour of Voewood house and gardens. When available the tour will be conducted by the owner Simon Finch, who has both an extensive knowledge and an enthusiasm for the house, its architecture and design and the contemporary interior decoration.

The guided tour lasts approximately one and a half hours.
